Dorset Council Local Plan Drop In Session

Your views on future planning and transport proposals from Dorset Council matter. Please join us at a drop-in session at the village hall between 2pm and 7pm on Tuesday, September 16th.

Dear Residents.

Dorset Council have recently published their Local Plan which is a document containing proposals for future development sites throughout the county. At this stage it is a consultation document and we are invited to give our thoughts, nothing regarding any actual planning has been decided. Bishops Caundle has had four potential greenfield locations identified with options for around 300 properties.

We would like your views on this so we can add these to our response to the consultation and are arranging an open session on Tuesday September 16th between 2pm and 7pm in the village hall. Everyone is welcome and we will have copies of the documents available to view. There is a petition in the shop about these proposals which you may wish to read and sign.

Alongside this, Dorset Council have also published their Local Transport Plan again for consultation, we are under North Dorset in this.

The full documents can be found on the Parish Council Website, online at www.dorsetcouncil.gov.uk/dorset-is-changing and as paper copies at County Hall, Dorchester during normal opening hours. The options consultation document (though not the appendices) will also be available in Dorset libraries.

If you are unable to attend the session, your comments are still welcomed. Please add comments on paper and leave the form either in the box in the village shop or alternatively you can send them by email to [email protected] by 30/09/2025. You can complete your own feedback as well on the Dorset Council page should you wish.
