Dorset Council Local Plan Options Documents

We have been forwarded a copy of the Dorset Council Local Plan Options document which has a consultation period of 18 August to 13 October 2025. Once I have more information on this I will pass this on to you all. Bishops Caundle has been identified as one of a number of potential sites for development and this is in appendix A. In the interim I will add a copy of the documents to the parish council website under a new heading called Dorset Council Local Plan. I will print a copy for the shop once we have all the information through.

These documents can be found online at www.dorsetcouncil.gov.uk/dorset-is-changing and at County Hall, Dorchester during normal opening hours. The options consultation document (though not the appendices) will also be available in Dorset libraries.

I would like to stress that this is still at consultation stage and councillors are also awaiting more details but feel it is important that you are aware of proposals.
